Affinity Flying Training Delivers Only Nine Months After Contract Award
On 21 November, Affinity Flying Training Services – a joint venture of Elbit Systems and KBR (formerly Kellogg, Brown & Root) – announced the delivery of the first two Grob G120TP PREFECT aircraft for the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) earlier in the month.
The two aircraft – one with the registration G-MFTS – are the first of 38 aircraft that Affinity is contracted to deliver to support the three levels of fixed-wing flying training in MFTS. These specific aircraft will support the elementary level of training and will be followed by delivery of the balance of the fleet in 2017.
To be based at RAF Cranwell and RAF Barkston Heath, the side-by-side configured PREFECT will be used to teach basic aviation principles and handling skills as well as basic navigation, night- and instrument-flying.
“We are delighted to have delivered these aircraft only nine months after contract award,” said Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK.
