Navantia Australia Prime Contractor for Through-Life Support
The Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) NUSHIP SUPPLY – first-of-class for the service’s new Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) ships – arrived in Sydney on 15 January.
“We look forward to the next step in her progress, with the commissioning of NUSHIP Supply by the Royal Australian Navy […] Of course, our important work is not yet done. Navantia Australia remains focussed on delivering industry-leading asset management, smart sustainment solutions and engineering services for not only the SUPPLY-class AORs, but all Navantia-designed ships and craft,” stated Navantia Australia’s Managing Director Alfonso García-Valdés.
Navantia Australia and the Department of Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), have established the AOR System Programme Office (AORSPO) to deliver industry-leading asset management for the AOR capability. Navantia Australia will act as prime contractor and manage the through-life support for these vessels for their first five years of service. As the design authority for the SUPPLY-class, and original equipment manufacturer for the engines and integrated platform management system, Navantia Australia provides configuration and baseline management as integral components of through-life support.
NUSHIP SUPPLY will be commissioned into the RAN in the second quarter of 2021.
