Local Upgrade Achieved in only Ten Months
A Argentinian Air Force C-130H HERCULEStook its first test flight on 22 December, demonstrating the upgraded capabilities incorporated in the aircraft under a programme managed by L-3 Platform Integration.
Upgrades include the installation of a Rockwell Collins Digital Flight 2 system in the cockpit, digital data displays, satellite communications systems, a Required Navigation Performance Area Navigation system, a traffic collision avoidance system, and the Northrop Grumman APN-241 multi-mode radar.
Fábrica Argentina de Aviones (FAdeA) completed the modernisiation work using a team of 150 technicians and engineers in only ten months, representing a reduction in time of almost 50 percent.
