First ANSAT Helicopter Assembled in Mexico

First of 15 Anticipated Helicopters for Mexican Market

Despite the challenges unleased by the COVID-19 pandemic, the collaboration between Russian Helicopters and Mexican company Craft Avia Center is moving forward.

After a six-week transit from the Kazan plant in the Tatarstan Republic, the first of 15 ANSAT helicopters that Craft Avia expects to sell in Mexico in the next several months arrived in the company’s Tlajomulco de Zuñiga facilities, where Russian technicians will now assemble the aircraft.

The two companies signed a contract in November 2018 for the supply of ANSAT helicopters in the first stage of expansion by both companies in the country. Craft Avia Center has built a maintenance and operation centre for the ANSAT and other aircraft, on two hectares with three hangars capable of working on nine aircraft simultaneously, and a complex that has a flight simulator. In November last year, agreement was reached for the arrival of ANSAT helicopters in Mexico, with the intention of offering them to the civil market. The Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) and the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) have signed a work agreement to validate the standard certificates of ANSAT helicopters to facilitate their operations in the country.
