Unspecified Number Contracted with EuroSpike
The Finnish armed forces have ordered an unspecified number of Spike anti-tank missiles from EuroSpike GmbH, a joint venture of Rheinmetall, Diehl Defence and Rafael, the company announced on 30 January.
The Bundeswehr was one of the early adopters of the Spike system, which in German service is designated the Mehrrollenfähiges Leichtes Lenkflugkörpersystem (multi-role light guided missile system – MELLS). This latest-generation effector is designed to engage armoured targets at ranges up to 4,000m – even 5,500m for some models.
