Cooperation to launch an alliance with the aim of a 50/50 joint venture
At Euronaval on Wednesday, Fincantieri and Naval Group detailed their cooperation to launch an alliance with the aim of a 50/50 joint venture.
Giuseppe Bono, CEO Fincantieri, and HervĆ© Guillou, Chairman and CEO Naval Group, told the audience during the companiesā joint ceremony at the show that through this joint venture, Fincantieri and Naval Group intend to jointly prepare winning offers for binational programmes and export market, e.g. both have already engaged in a common industrial collaboration to provide the French Navy with four logistic support ships (LSS), based on the design of the Italian Vulcano LSS.
Furthermore, as of 2019 and with the support of both Ministries of Defence, Fincantieri and Naval Group contemplate to present a common Combat Management System (CMS) offer for first Mid-Life Upgrade studies of the French and Italian Horizon-class destroyers.
A government-to-government agreement will be needed to ensure the protection of sovereign assets, a fluid collaboration between the French and Italian teams and encourage further coherence of the National assistance programmes, which provide a framework and support export sales. Fincantieri and Naval Group consider that this alliance represents a great opportunity for both groups and their eco-systems, and MONCh and NAVAL FORCES will stay on top of this and report in real time.
