FIDAE 2022: Steadicopter Participates for First Time

Seeks New Markets With Black Eagle UAS

Israeli company Steadicopter is presenting its portfolio in South America for the first time. At FIDAE, it is partnering with IMCO Group, also present in Chile for the first time.

The purpose of attending the show is to open new markets with the Black Eagle family of UAS. This family offers different engine and payload options, depending on mission requirements. The leading piece of equipment is the electric Black Eagle 50E. Thanks to inhouse design, production and open architecture the user can choose from a variety of options. Third party military-off-the-shelf (MOTS) communication systems and payloads can be specified. At FIDAE a payload from CONTROP is shown, integrated by Steadicopter.

Thanks to it small size it can be also used in space-constrained and maritime environments, like boats. Just 3m2 are needed, with control conducted on ruggedised tablets or laptops. The Black Eagle 50E has a length of 3.1m and a rotor diameter of 2.8: maximum take-off weight is 50kg, with a 15kg payload and performance can be adapted by removing batteries – which reduces endurance. Its electrical engine reduces the acoustic signature, making it ideal for covert missions. According to the company, standard endurance is four hours and the aircraft features a 150km datalink range. A crew of two is needed for operations – a pilot and a technician, requiring some three weeks training time.

The Black Eagle family consists of the Black Eagle 50, 50E, 50H (Hybrid), 35E and 25E, of which the 50E and 50H are the newest members. The endurance of the H-version is up to 5 hours with a 12kg payload.
