Potable Water at 150+litres/day
Swiss water treatment specialist, Katadyn Group, is using FIDAE this week to show its mobile water treatment solutions in Latin America for the first time – and is seeking local representation.
The HFD-PS40 is a compact, mobile water treatment solution for a squad, group or troop, capable of generating up to 6.3l/hour of desalinated, potable water – or 151l/day. Purified drinking water can be delivered from virtually any source – fresh, brackish or seawater.
Weighing 22kg and requiring 12/24V DC power, a military Bren-Tronics BB-2590 DC battery as a buffer and a solar panel are already included. The system was originally developed for the USAF Guardian Angel programme and has now been adapted to mobile land operations. The system floats independently in its transport case, and can thus be easily transported across a watercourse.
Power connectors include NATO slave cable, 2590 battery connector, alligator clips for standard batteries or an optional solar panel. Two 1-micron pre-filters are included with the system, which can operate at up to 14ft above the water source, according to Katadyn. Salt rejection runs from 95% minimum to 98.4%.
The company is seeking sales representation in Latin America and can be contacted via their booth at FIDAE or though the website at www.katadyngroup.com
