Expanding on Significant Regional Footprint
Already a significant presence in the Latin American defence and aerospace market, Thales will use the 20th iteration of the FIDAE exhibition, taking place in Santiago de Chile 3-8 April, to focus its existing and potential customers’ attention on its range of advanced airspace defence solutions, the company announced at the show.
“FIDAE is a very important event in our calendar and we are delighted to participate in the 2018 edition. Latin America is a priority region for Thales, constantly contributing to the company’s global growth. We will continue to expand our product portfolio in Chile through our solid local presence and new strategic partnerships to better serve our customers,” commented Vice President of Thales Latin America, Ruben Lazo.
With a 50-year history in Latin America, Thales considers itself to be a reference in aerospace markets, supporting its customers’ ambitions to secure their airspace with over 200 air traffic control radars in 9 countries in the region, and over 30 air traffic management centres in Chile, Mexico and Central America.
The company has also managed several iconic aerospace programmes in Latin America, such as the in-orbit delivery of the SGDC first Brazilian Geostationary Satellite for Communications and Defence (SGDC), and actively supporting development of the Brazilian space industry by leading technology transfer to local companies.
