FIDAE 2018: Brazil and Mexico Award ‘Maintenance-by-the-hour’ Contracts to Airbus

HCare Smart for Total of €125+ Million

At FIDAE 2018 on 4 April Airbus Helicopters announced it has been awarded two contracts, with an aggregate value in excess of €125 million, to deliver HCare Smart ‘maintenance-by-the-hour contracts for the H225M fleets in service with the armed forces of Brazil and Mexico. These are the largest such contracts in Latin America, the company asserts.

The Brazilian contract covers all 50 H225Ms comprised under the 2008 H-XBR programme, of which 30 have already been delivered, for the Army, Navy and Air Force. The contract with Mexico includes comprehensive support for the 11 H225M aircraft operated by the Air Force.

Both contracts are fully customised for each customer to cover material support for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This will deliver enhanced aircraft availability through highly responsive material support backed by strong commitments.
