Company Secures Several Other Contracts for Same Platform
At Farnborough on 18 July Meggitt announced it has signed a formal contract with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for the supply of fire detection and bleed air leak detection systems for the KF-x fighter aircraft.
Scheduled to commence production in the middle of the next decade, the KF-X is South Korea’s first indigenous jet fighter. This award is the most recent of several Meggitt has already secured on the platform, for which it has already announced contracts covering the supply of wheels and lightweight carbon brakes as well as a multi-million dollar contract for the design, development and supply of standby flight displays, engine displays and heading sensors.
“These awards are proof of the excellent relationship we have with KAI, which has been developed on the KT-1 turboprop family and the SUIRION and light attack helicopters. We look forward to working with KAI on their multirole KF-X fighter,” commented Meggitt Sensing Systems President, Chris Allen.
