Advanced Trainer Offers Flexible, Cost-Effective Training

At FEINDEF 2021 in Madrid, Leonardo is showing the M-346 advanced trainer aircraft to interested parties. One of the most advanced pre-operational (or Lead-In-To-Fighter – LIFT) training aircraft currently available, the M-346’s high levels of performance and handling – combined with the associated ground-based training system and embedded tactical training simulation systems – allow trainees to benefit from an aircraft fully representative of their future operational platforms.

A combination of aircraft, full mission simulator and computer-generated forces allows pilots to interact in real time with virtual tactical scenarios, providing a ‘live-virtual-constructive’ environment that accurately reproduces the most complex operational situations – entirely compatible with current and future platforms such as the TYPHOON and F-35.

A light fighter variant – the M-346 FA – features Leonardo’s GRIFO radar and has already been delivered to its first international customer.
