Fairbanks Morse $13.5 Million to Service USN Vessels

Streamlines Pricing for Support Services Under Single Agreement

Fairbanks Morse has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the US Navy (USN), valued at approximately $13.5 million, to service USN vessels. The contract covers all US Navy ships with Fairbanks Morse engines and will enable improved lifecycle support and maximise Fairbanks Morse products in critical Navy applications, the company announced on 13 February.

The support will include technical and engineering services, logistics, training and administrative and programme management efforts related to diesel engine lifecycles and in-service operations. Fairbanks Morse will provide the services, personnel, facilities, expertise, technical information, special tools, supplies and incidental materials necessary to ensure the longevity of the vessels.

The contract allows the USN to eliminate the administrative, time and cost burdens associated with working through an intermediate party, rather than interacting directly with Fairbanks Morse. This agreement will streamline pricing for support services under a single agreement.

[….] this extensive contract will provide American workers with jobs in our service centres across the country,” observed company President, Deepak Navnith.
