HERCULES, PUCARÁ FÉNIX ISR System and PAMPA II Simulator
The Argentine MoD has signed open purchase orders with FAdeA, valued at $14.4 million (€12.2 million) to provide aeronautical services for the Argentine Air Force.
The contract covers modernisation of the fifth C-130 HERCULES (TC-64), which has been at the factory since 2018 while overhaul works were being performed: work will now continue on its modernisation and upgrade.
The programme also calls for final development, fabrication and certification of the IA-63 PAMPA II simulator, to be used by IV Air Brigade, which operates the PAMPA II fleet. Finally, the contract covers completion of flight tests, certification and integration for the ISR system for the IA-58 PUCARÁ FÉNIX aircraft, using the prototype (OVX-501).
The government plans to modernise an additional four aircraft – for which the airframes have already been selected – in 2021.
