Diverse Range of Naval Electronics
Attending Exponaval for the first time, Aselsan is using the event to promote its entire catalogue of naval equipment, systems and solutions to the South American market.
The company’s offer is both extensive and diverse: torpedo countermeasures, weapon control Systems, IRST Systems for ISR missions, surveillance systems for small craft, missile warning systems, vessel modernisation – the list of capabilities is considerable.
The Zargana torpedo decoy, for example, is launched from submarine platforms to seduce, deceive and destroy hostile torpedos by jamming the incoming weapons’ acoustic operating frequency. The Gökdeniz close-in weapons system uses twin 35mm autocannon to provide self-protection at greater distance than normally achieved by CIWS solutions. The solution is also offered as a potential replacement for heavier weapons in OPVs. The STAMP lightweight RCWS can mount 7.62 or 12.7mm machineguns or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
Radio equipment also features, such as the PRC/VRC 9661 tactical software-defined radios, able to communicate voice and data encrypted or in the clear, hopping frequencies in the VHF and UHF bands (30-512MHz). They are designed to provide secure communication and electronic protection measures for a range of applications and missions.
