Containerised Variant of Established WARMATE
WB Group America presented its WARTUBE loitering munition at EXPODEFENSA in Bogota this week.
Developed from the WARMATE unmanned aerial system (UAS), adapted to the loitering munition role under the initial designation WARMATE TL, the renamed WARTUBE is stored and transported in a container, wings folded, from which it is launched pneumatically.
Its electro-optical system includes day and night cameras and the operator is able to abort the mission at any time. Different types of payload can be fitted and the system can be used as a conventional surveillance UAV, being recovered via parachute. The WARTUBE has a wingspan of 1.7m and a length of 1.1m, a maximum takeoff weight of 4.5kg and has an endurance of 40 minutes and a range of 10km.
