EO/IR systems supplier to Colombian Navy + Mexican Law Enforcement Agency
At Expodefensa Colombia 2017, in Bogota this week on stand #2782-162-M2, Controp Precision Technologies Ltd., a company specialising in the field of electro-optics (EO), infrared (IR) defence and homeland security solutions, showcases its range of tri-service EO/IR solutions. The company announces a follow-on order from the Colombian Navy for its iSea maritime payloads and an order for its iSky airborne payloads from a Mexican Law Enforcement agency, to be installed on board a helicopter. In addition, Controp’s offerings for border & coastal protection, the land-based SPEED-ER & MEOS Systems, designed to bear up to the most extreme environmental conditions.
“We are proud of our wide-ranging line of payloads for air, land & maritime applications,” says Hagay Azani, VP Marketing & Sales at CONTROP. “We invest a lot of resources on R&D to make sure that our offerings will answer our Latin American clients’ requirements for advanced, rugged systems that withstand the unique environmental conditions common to this area, without compromising their performance. We are especially grateful for our close cooperation with the Colombian Navy and for their ongoing trust and satisfaction, as reflected by a recent follow-on order for several additional iSea maritime systems. Latin America is an important market for us and we are continuously working on expanding our operations in this region.”
Controp’s medium and long-range airborne payloads were uniquely developed for the challenging and often turbulent aerial environment and they provide solutions for medium and long-range aerial surveillance platforms. Features include a continuous optical zoom lens in HD day camera and thermal imaging (SD/HD) cameras, gyro-stabilised gimbals, and multi-sensor options including Eyesafe Laser Range Finder (ELRF) and/or Laser Pointer, all of which provide outstanding capabilities. The iSky systems may be installed on helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft (A/C) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and may be integrated with the platform’s systems. Ideal for manned or unmanned airborne platforms, all of the iSky systems include real-time image enhancement features, built-in INS, and Automatic Video Tracker. The iSky systems were recently selected by a Mexican Law Enforcement agency for installation on board a helicopter. They are also successfully operated, fully integrated and deployed by Search and Rescue (SAR), Border Surveillance, Law Enforcement, Special Operations, Maritime Patrol, and Force Protection Units worldwide.
Controp’s SPEED-ER is a first-of-its-kind gyro-stabilized, land-based, extended-long-range observation system. SPEED-ER’s 3 channels – Visible, Thermal and SWIR (Short-Wave Infrared) – ensure sharp, clear and stabilised pictures. The SWIR provides great images, even in conditions of haze, dust, rain or high humidity, and at any hour of the day or night. This capability makes SPEED-ER unique in the industry, and ideal for diverse and challenging applications and missions including coastal and border surveillance. The MEOS System is an advanced, wide area, passive, real time 24/7 modular EO/IR observation system with panoramic scanning and automatic target detection capabilities. The system includes a medium range or long range Thermal Imaging Camera with Continuous Zoom Lens and a medium range or a long range Day Camera as well as an optional Laser Range Finder (LRF).
Taking into account the security and defense issues currently affecting the region, and due to political instability and criminal activity, it is important to rely on the latest generation of technological systems, such as Controp’s land systems, in order to carry out the critical control and defense of coastal and land borders.
