Sinus brings self-contained telephone exchange to GPEC.

Sinus Electronic has exhibited its MDPL and MDHL self-contained telephone exchanges at the GPEC police equipment exhibition being held between 20th and 22nd February in Frankfurt. The MDPL and MDHL products are highly portable exchanges that contain all the cabling, switching equipment and interfaces to accept a large number of differing communications systems on the battlefield, thus connecting such networks together. For example, the user can connect their deployed tactical radio networks into the MDPL/MDHL alongside a deployed long term evolution secure cell phone network, or a local area network, for example, linking all of the users of these respective networks together.

Company officials told MONS that both the MDPL and MDHL can host up to 1000 voice over internet protocol accounts. In addition, the MDPL can handle up to 500 megabits per second (mbps) of data, with this increasing to 1000 gigabits per second for the MDHL. Both products offer 256 bit encryption and can handle up to 100 telephone calls simultaneously. Moreover, both the respective power and hybrid cables of the MDPL and MDHL provide combined telephone, power and Ethernet lines. Both systems can also be ‘daisy chained’ together to increase their range beyond the standard 100 metres (300 feet) cables offered by the systems, and to increase the number of users that can be handled. The firm continued that it had demonstrated the technology to the German armed forces, and is confident of orders, from the German Army, and other armed forces in the near future.
