MASS extends NATO EW Support Contract
A press release published by MASS, a Cohort plc company, on 9 January announced that the company will extend its provision of Electronic Warfare (EW) support services to NATO’s Joint EW Core Staff (JEWCS) located at RNAS Yeovilton airbase in southwest England.
This extension will see the firm providing these services until the end of 2018, alongside options to extend them for a further two years. The press release continued that the value of this contract is circa $1.3 million, with MASS providing electronic, software and mechanical engineering support, plus the provision of EW operations analysis, the latter of which is responsible for the provision of exercise threat libraries which can be used in the provision of NATO and member states’ EW training initiatives.
NATO’s JEWCS comprises twelve nations and is a stand-alone component of the alliance which provides EW services to the organisation.
