Eurosatory 2022: Xenics Displays SWIR and LWIR Solutions

SWaP-optimised, Robust and Powerful

At Eurosatory 2022, 13-17 June, Xenics will showcase its Ceres and Dione series cameras in the long-wave IR (LWIR spectral band and the Bobcat and Wildcat short-wave (SWIR) devices.

The Dione series consists of a SWaP-optimised thermal module based on cutting-edge 12μm pitch microbolometer sensors. Designed with a family concept in mind, enabling a seamless path up and down, it covers a resolution of QVGA (320×240 pixels), VGA (640×480) and the leading edge SXGA (1280×1024). With its ultra-SWaP configuration, Dione also gives customers an extremely small latency (typically 100μs for the VGA format). The shutterless algorithm, when optimised, offers additional image quality enhancement in fast environmental temperature changes. Several interfaces are proposed, which make Dione the perfect SWaP solution for embedded systems. Finally, Dione modules benefit from a very robust design, making them compatible with harsh environments and thus suitable for defence purposes.

Based on similar building blocks to Dione, the Ceres family offers all the benefits of the 12μm microbolometer VGA and SXGA formats in fully-featured cameras. Thanks to their thermally optimised design, Ceres cameras offer high stability when confronting environmental changes. The extended embedded capabilities and standard interfaces make the Ceres cameras easy to integrate into high-end vision systems and industrial inspection systems.

Also on display will be the company’s SWIR cameras. With the cost-optimised QVGA (320×256 pixels) Bobcat, SWIR is now affordable, and gives customers additional surveillance and uncovering capabilities. At the highest end of the technology, Wildcat offers a compact VGA resolution with high sensitivity and high dynamic, thus enabling greater ranges and detection capabilities.
