VITEC will highlight its complete range of Full Motion Video technologies for ISTAR applications at Eurosatory 2022, including: the new military-grade MGW Pico+ TOUGH, a robust and compact credit card-sized encoder; the MGW Diamond TOUGH, a ruggedly-built encoder suited to delivering any type of ISR or situational awareness video content; and FITIS, a video content management solution for rapid deployment in the field.
Designed with the rigours and mission critical nature of military and government operations in mind, the MGW Pico+ TOUGH will take centre stage. Intended to provide live tactical video to command centres from UAS, it overcomes network bandwidth constraints to ensure the best video quality at low bitrate. The capability to change bit rate ‘on the fly’ is a critical requirement, as are the product’s optimised SWaP characteristics.
The MGW Diamond TOUGH is a fanless, power-efficient quad channel HEVC and H.264 HD/SD encoder in a rugged enclosure, suited to delivering video generated by ground vehicles, airborne platforms and marine vessels in extreme environments. The easy-to-integrate encoder provides exceptional contrast and brightness in any conditions, thanks to high dynamic range support, and delivers advanced HEVC compression, allowing users to stream HD/SD video (up to 1080p60) with up to 50% bandwidth savings compared to current H.264 standards.
For dissemination and content management of FMV streams and files, FITIS is an all-in-one solution that can be rapidly deployed in the field or in a secure, hosted site, to serve as the central interface for managing live and recorded IPTV content, user access rights, and video distribution workflows. The solution enables decision-makers and analysts to view, archive, retrieve, and manipulate ISR footage and tactical military video streams quickly — a benefit making it possible to exploit live and recorded video for actionable, real-time intelligence within the observe-orient-decide-act (OODA) loop. FITIS also offers editing and collaboration capabilities for analysing and sharing video assets with KLV/STANAG metadata.
