Innovative Radar Does Away With Need for Target Prioritisation
Visitors to the Elbit Systems display at Eurosatory 2022 this week will see a wide range of advanced solutions – from multi-domain networking to AFV solutions, and from EO payloads to swarm capabilities.
New capabilities being unveiled will include:
- Legion-X – live demo of swarm capability at 13:00 on 14 June – a one time only demonstration of an autonomous heterogeneous swarm, broadcast live from a test area in Israel. The swarm will include seven drones, two UGVs, five different sensor types, a strike capability and an AI-driven management application;
- DaiR – an innovative simultaneous multi-mission X-band tactical software-defined radar that makes target prioritisation redundant and enables a step change in the effectiveness and efficiency of border security and perimeter protection. Incorporating hundreds of digital receivers, sophisticated algorithms and computing cores with AI capabilities, it can conduct simultaneous detection and tracking of thousands of objects of various sizes and velocities, with no need for target prioritisation;
- Sabrah Light tank and turret solutions will make their debut at the show, in the form of an Ascod AFV with the Sabrah 105/120mm optionally manned turret, featuring an automatic loader, advanced sights, Iron Vision head-mounted display and Iron Fist active protection system;
- SkyStriker loitering munition, recently demonstrated to a number of European delegations. The solution significantly expands the operational envelope of artillery units, providing a precision strike capability ay up to 100km ranges;
- COAPS-L – a new miniaturized variant of the Commander Open Architecture Panoramic Sight (COAPS) that provides light platforms such as light tactical vehicles, UGVs and surface vessels with AFV-level ISTAR capabilities;
- REST is a Range Extension & Smart Tail kit that transforms almost any type of air-to-surface warhead into a high penetration standoff precision-guided munition, providing all-weather pinpoint fire-and-forget capability to ranges of up to 120km, with a steep impact angle capability for enhanced penetration of hard targets.
