Arquimea launched its Q-SLAM-40 at Eurosatory this week – a tactical multi-purpose loitering UAS designed for a number of short-range mission applications, including ISTAR and damage assessment. It has been designed to tackle complex combat environments in special or conventional operations in the field or from fixed defensive positions.
Cost-effective, flexible, robust and durable, Q-SLAM-40 can be easily transported by a two-man team in lightweight backpacks and can be deployed within minutes, ensuring fast reaction time. It consists of a pneumatic launcher, an aerial platform and a ground control station, including an antenna and a tablet for command and control. The airframe features a folding wing structure for simple, rapid transport.
Interest in loitering systems for defence applications is increasing in line with recent international events. This technology has numerous advantages, including permanent operator-in-the-loop, improved operational safety and reduced collateral risk.
