From Weapon Systems and Ammunition to NBC Protection
Better known for its comprehensive range of land warfare solutions and platforms, Nexter will be highlighting its naval prowess at Euronaval in Paris, 23-26 October.
Nexter will showcase its mid-calibre naval weapon systems, such as the NARWHAL 20A and, for the first time, the RapidFire T40 anti-aircraft turret. NARWHAL fulfils very short-range self-defence missions against drones and light craft: mounting the 20M621 gun, it is particularly suitable for surveillance and maritime police operations and has been adopted by the French Navy and many foreign navies. The RapidFire 40 anti-aircraft system, designed by Nexter and Thales in partnership, is aimed at the short-range self-defence mission, in which its CTAI 40mm gun (a joint venture between Nexter and BAE Systems) is capable of intercepting helicopters, drones or light craft up to a distance of 4,000 metres. This performance is achieved through a viewfinder with electro-optical day/night cameras and a moving target tracking function.
The company will also present its entire range of ammunition adapted to naval requirements. Ranging from 20-127 mm calibre, as well as the 40 mm telescoped, these rounds are optimised for anti-ship and air defence, including countering anti-ship missiles.
Finally, in a context in which chemical protection is once again a major concern for all theatres of operation, Nexter will offer its Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) protection solutions, already proven on board the FREMM-class multi-purpose frigates.
