Combat Proven Defensive Systems
Rafael will focus visitor attention on its C-Dome naval air defence system and the C-Gem active decoy during Euronaval 2022 in Paris this week.
This will mark the first occasion on which these systems have been publicly displayed since they became operational on the Israeli Navy’s Sa’ar 6 corvettes earlier this year. Other systems being showcased at the event include the Sea Breaker 5th-generation and Naval Spike NLOS missiles, as well as the Typhoon Mk30 RWS.
As the naval adaptation of the company’s Iron Dome air defence solution, C-Dome benefits from a legacy of over 5,000 combat interceptions and is now operational with the Israeli Navy. C-Gem is designed to deceive the coherent radar seekers of modern anti-ship missiles, the majority of which use chaff and corner reflector discrimination algorithms. The Wizard 4th-generation integrated decoy systems, designed to meet modern and emerging threats, will also be on display: it can be loaded and operated by a single person.
The Typhoon Mk30c RWS offers high levels of stabilization and accuracy, resulting in high hit probabilities even against agile fast-moving targets, including UAS. This latest member of the Typhoon family mounts a Mk44 Bushmaster cannon and is fully compatible with air-burst ammunition. Sea Breaker and Naval Spike NLOS missiles offer advanced capability for precision strike at ranges of 300km and 32km respectively.
Other naval systems on display will include Sea Spotter (early warning detection and accurate multiple target tracking), Drone Dome (360° counter-UAS), Torbuster (4th-generation hard/soft kill decoy system for submarines) and Scutter Mk3 (3rd-generation reactive torpedo decoy).
