SWORD Demonstrates Compatibility with Third Party Solutions

PITCH TALK and DIGITAL SAND BOX Show Ease of Interoperability

At Eurosatory 2018 in Villepinte, Paris, this week, artificial intelligence (AI) specialist MASA Group will be demonstrating how its flagship product – the AI-powered SWORD solution – can be integrated with third party systems for synergistic effect. Pitch Technologies’ PITCH TALK, a communications framework to support distributed simulation, and Nexter’s DIGITAL SAND BOX, a mission preparation system, have both been integrated with SWORD on the MASA booth to showcase exercise design and management as well as tactical training and mission assessment.

SWORD will also be used in the VULCAIN demo taking place on the French Ministry of Defence (MoD) booth. With the arrival of the SCORPION programme, the MoD has worked with various companies to create VULCAIN – a platform which makes it possible to operate distributed simulation, connecting several simulators of different natures simultaneously. Such a tool aims to be able to work for soldiers of a SCORPION brigade in a virtual, joint and common set-up.

“VULCAIN is an exciting project for MASA to be involved in. Working alongside some of the other biggest experts in simulation technology, we are able to collaborate and share ideas ahead of SCORPION, to ensure that the French Army has the best training resources available to them. SWORD has been a key part of the French Army’s training system for 16 years and MASA works with the Army and other developers to ensure our software continues to be relevant and effective,” commented MASA Managing Director, Marc de Fritsch.

In addition to SWORD, MASA will be demonstrating the AI technology that makes SWORD stand out as sophisticated simulation software. Direct AI (DAI) is an AI engine which can be integrated into a wide range of simulation software to enrich the solution with decision-making AI technology. DAI will be part of both SWORD simulations, as well as on a demonstration with XVR. This demonstration will be on a virtual reality (VR) headset. MASA will also be showcasing SYNERGY, its civilian training simulation software, providing agencies and law enforcement organisations with training software for a range of scenarios, including natural disasters and terror attacks.
