Kissling Service GmbH outfits the Multi Role Vehicle (MRV) from Mercedes-Benz as a possible successor to the German SERVAL KSK Special Forces vehicle
The MRV stands for a compact, lightweight vehicle platform that can be fitted with a variety of mission equipment, ranging from communications systems to small arms storage devices. The vehicle on display in Villepinte was outfitted with an EMILY 3000 fuel cell from SFC Energy AG. According to Mercedes-Benz, the MRV’s payload capacity is 3,000 kilogrammes. The vehicle itself (called G 300 CDI) is based on components of the proven Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
Kissling Service told MONCh that replacing existing SERVAL vehicles is an urgent requirement by the KSK (Kommando Spezialkräfte) Special Forces military unit. Sebastian Stracke, the company’s Key Account Manager, suggested that a successor should be in service until 2021. He also confirms that the bidding process will be initiated in the fall of 2018.
