Automatic Tracking in Staring Mode
HGH Infrared Systems launched another big innovation for their 360-degrees SPYNEL thermal sensors: the Automatic Tracking in Staring Mode feature.
Since the release of SPYNEL-X, a high definition Infrared Search & Track sensor, HGH has kept on developing innovative technologies for the five SPYNEL models, in order to meet the growing needs in terms of defence and security. At Eurosatory 2018, HGH Infrared Systems officially launched SPYNEL’s latest innovation: the sensors’ integrated software CYCLOPE is now able to automatically track a threat in real time in staring mode, without requiring any manual intervention.
“This is a major technological breakthrough following the release of the V-LRF option for Spynel. Less and less human intervention is needed regarding the identification phase of a threat. This automation is all the more relevant when it comes to rapidly moving threats, such as UAVs, RHIBS, or the protection of FOBs, for instance,”‘ said Edouard Campana, Sales Director of HGH Infrared Systems.
This new feature follows the release of SPYNEL’s V-LRF option, competing for the 2018 Eurosatory Innovation Award. The V-LRF option – providing SPYNEL-X and SPYNEL-S sensors with a Visible Channel and a Laser Range Finder – was awarded the Milipol Innovation Prize when released last November, and was named ”Innovative Product of the Year” at the Shield Awards in March 2018.
