Both 30mm and 105mm Variants Delivered
Just two years after presenting two variants of the Cockerill 3000 turret for the first time in Europe, at Eurosatory 2016, CMI Defence is announcing at Eurosatory 2018 it has already delivered over 130 units – 30 of which are armed with the COCKERILL 105 gun.
The Cockerill 3000 – for which the company won a contract in 2014 – is based on a modular concept and enables the turret to accommodate guns of varying calibres between 25-105mm: it can also launch missiles.
The systems’ unique operational capabilities, rapid weapon and crew interchangeability and a high degree of commonality enable the turrets to cover a wide variety of missions and objectives on the battlefield at reduced operational costs. These systems benefit, in particular, from through-life support services and from CMI Defence’s AGUERIS simulation solutions, which enable training and mission rehearsal on both virtual immersive cockpits and embedded simulators.
“With more than 130 Cockerill 3000 Series turrets and more than 30 COCKERILL 105 guns already produced and delivered, CMI Defence demonstrates its ability to carry out, in record time, the development and supply of large weapons systems. CMI Defence today benefits from a robust and reliable organisation, capable of designing, qualifying, producing, delivering and supporting large quantities of weapons systems that perfectly meet the current and future requirements of the modern armed forces,” observed the company’s President, Thierry Renaudin.
