Bittium TAC WIN system and Bittium Tough VoIP for Estonian Defence Forces
Bittium has recently received a purchase order for a tactical communications system based on the Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) system and also includes products from the Bittium Tough VoIP product family, including the Tough VoIP Service software product, and related integration work to be delivered to the Estonian Defence Forces.
The TAC WIN system will be used to modernise the IP data transfer, develop the performance of the tactical data network, and diversify the wireless and wired connectivity of the system entity used by the Estonian Land Forces.
Bittium Tough VoIP product family’s products will be used to upgrade the Land Forces’ IP voice service, and together with Bittium TAC WIN system, Bittium Tough VoIP Service software forms a solution that seamlessly integrates the tactical network and its voice services for leading the troops even in the most demanding situations.
In addition to the system delivery, Bittium will also do integration work that will enable Bittium’s system, the systems already used by the Estonian Land Forces, and equipment to be acquired from third parties to be seamlessly incorporated to the same system entity. Product deliveries specified in the purchase order will commence at the end of this year.
Bittium Tough VoIP product family’s products enable tactical IP calls and broadband data transfer even in demanding conditions. The products can also be easily integrated to existing IP infrastructure. The product family’s Bittium Tough VoIP Service software product connects both fixed data network and wireless tactical data network users’ calls to the same network, which significantly improves the capability to lead troops and maintain situational awareness in the quickly changing conditions of the battlefield.
