Two Systems for RAF by Year End
BAE Systems has awarded a contract to Esterline to provide visual systems for the RAF’s Eurofighter TYPHOON simulator facilities at Lossiemouth in Scotland. Esterline will deliver two ultra-modern visual systems by the end of the year under the contract, valued at in excess of €1 million.
Esterline has previously supplied simulation equipment for both TYPHOON and HAWK training in the UK. The new systems will provide RAF pilots with high-performance, high-fidelity visual systems as they train and rehearse for global operational deployments.
Anthony Gregory, Campaign Delivery Director at BAE Systems, said: “The outstanding capability of the display system we have selected from Esterline was a key discriminator in awarding this contract and is vital in ensuring we deliver our training and support requirements to the Royal Air Force.”
BAE Systems is supporting the UK Government in offering the Eurofighter Typhoon as an advanced, multi-role combat aircraft solution to Belgium as part of the Air Combat Capability (ACCap) programme.
