ESG to Provide ADLER III for Lithuanian Army

Modern C2 System for New-Generation Artillery Systems

Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH (ESG) has received an order from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to supply command and control (C2) system to the Lithuanian Army.

The Lithuanian artillery branch is currently expanding its indirect fire capabilities in a targeted manner and is introducing new-generation artillery systems into the Lithuanian armed forces. For the control and monitoring of artillery systems, a modern C2 system capable of interacting with those of other NATO partners was sought, in order to ensure effective communication and functioning amongst joint forces.

Together with its Lithuanian partner Elsis, ESG is putting the new C2 system in place for the Lithuanian artillery systems based on ADLER III. In the months ahead, the Fire Direction Centre, Forward Observer, Tactical Air Control Party and METEO systems will be equipped with ADLER III software, robust computers, network components and the necessary power supplies. The ADLER III systems will also receive the required interfaces for IP radios and GPS receivers.

With the Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000), the Lithuanian artillery has the world’s most advanced indirect fire system. For the ADLER III systems in the Fire Direction Centres, the communication interface to the PzH2000 will be appropriately modified for transmission of fire commands, ammunition management and other purposes.

So that the ADLER III system can deliver an accurate situational picture and ensure interoperability with other C2, it will be equipped with the ESG Information Mediation Service (IMS) and the Tactical Situation Service (TSS). IMS is a stand-alone service which ensures interoperability between different command systems via international interfaces and specific proprietary/national solutions. The service makes it possible for the first time to interconnect multiple nations simultaneously via different standards to achieve a shared, uniform situation view.

This contract once again demonstrates the viability of ESG products and solutions as a specialist for modern, user-oriented and comprehensively interoperable battle management systems.
