Already Integrated on VICTORIA USV Developed by FERRI
Escribano Mechanical & Engineering has unveiled ASPIS, a new lightweight remote weapon station (RWS) for use on land and at sea.
The compact RWS weighs under 90kg, making it the lightest currently available. It features a 7.62mm M240 or a 7.62mm M134D Gatling gun. It also embodies advanced features of the GUARDIAN and SENTINEL RWS, including two-axis stabilisation, a target tracking system and automatic tracking. Its electro-optical sensor has an uncooled thermal camera, a high-sensitivity visible camera and a laser range finder.
Thanks to its advanced features, the ASPIS RWS can be used on land platforms and on unmanned surface vessels (USV) – versatility that allows its integration into the VICTORIA USV developed by Spanish company FERRI.
The collaboration between the two companies offers an ideal solution to enhance security in maritime missions, since it allows the detection of standard NATO targets at ranges over 13km: an important technological advance that will improve protection of coasts and borders against multiple threats.
