Escribano Driving Cameras for AFV Fleets

Forward and Rear Cameras, Dual Sensors

A year ago, Escribano Mechanical & Engineering cameras were selected for the Spanish Army’s PIZARRO Phase II modification contract. With that experience under its belt, the Madrid-based company is now actively marketing the same technology to AFV fleet operators worldwide.

The 83 cameras supplied under the PIZARRO contract contribute significantly to driver situational awareness and crew/occupant safety. The system integrates both infrared and visible spectrum sensors into a single unit, which can be further integrated with VTCDual to a rearward-facing infrared camera.

For the forward camera, the infrared sensor operates in the long-wave infrared (LWIR) band and is uncooled. The innovative technology of the VTC systems provides the driver with high definition images 24/7 and in all environmental conditions on a rugged 8.4in monitor with high contrast and a dedicated night vision mode. The VTC and VTC-Dual solutions are extremely versatile and suitable for light armoured vehicles – manned and unmanned – providing for a high degree of reliability and ease of maintenance.
