C-UAS and Anti-Armour Solutions Also on Show
On its largest exhibit space to date at Enforce Tac in Nuremberg this week, Diehl Defence is concentrating visitor attention on its Ziesel UGV.
Based on the Rovo 2 platform from Mattro, the adaptation for military use has been conducted in collaboration with Hentschel System GmbH, with autonomous functions stemming from the Platon autonomous driving kit, installed by Diehl and integrated into Systematic’s SitaWare Frontline battle management system. Diehl delivered two of these vehicles in a logistics transport configuration to the Bundeswehr at the end of November.
Already extensively tested by the Bundeswehr, Ziesel stands out of its robust nature, agility and autonomous capabilities, according to the company. The vehicle being shown at Enforce Tac carries a sensor mast system from Zippermast GmbH in combination with a high-capacity pan-tilt-zoom camera, including an AI-based object recognition capability from Walaris.
Diehl Defence is also highlighting a new, unique generation of high-powered electro-magnetic (HPEM)-based counter-UAS effectors: SkyWolf provides infrastructure and event protection as well as filling a military role. Lastly, the Libelle next-generation anti-armour solution, combining a top-attack profile with advanced warhead technologies, will overcome passive, reactive and active protection systems for current and anticipated armoured platforms. It will be shown integrated on the MRZR-D4.
