Bundeswehr Buys EMILY 2200

SFC Energy receives another Bundeswehr order

On 15 January, SFC Energy announced receipt of another German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) order for supplying off-grid power to devices on board of defence vehicles and to soldiers in the field. The order, which came via the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technologies and Usage (BAAINBw),  has a volume of approx. €0.86 million and is the second order to SFC Energy by the office following the €3.6 million order received on 12 December 2017. MONS reported on that here. According to the company, the systems were already delivered in December 2017.

The new order is another follow-up order for EMILY 2200 fuel cell systems, following their successful deployment by BAAINBw in December 2011. At that point, EMILY 2200 had been also assigned a NATO stock number (NSN). “This is an important order for our company. Another follow-up order, it clearly demonstrates the many decisive advantages our EMILY 2200 fuel cell system brings to Bundeswehr missions,” Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy, proudly explains. “Our highly efficient, silent, environmentally friendly power generator provides reliable power to electric and electronic defense devices in the field – anywhere and anytime, vehicle-based, stationary, or as a battery charger. We are very proud to contribute to more soldier safety, flexibility and mobility with our products. The success of our products in German Bundeswehr applications is a strong positive signal for our international business activities.”
