European and Asian Air Force Customers Adopt and Upgrade
Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) ELTA Systems announced on 8 February it has won contracts totalling $30 million for electronic and communications intelligence (ELINT & COMINT) systems.
The company is to supply an advanced COMINT system to an unidentified European customer to provide real time intelligence at tactical and strategic levels by scanning, locating, analysing and monitoring all communications in the tactical arena.
An existing Asian Air Force customer has ordered an advanced signals intelligence (SIGINT) suite consisting of the ELK-7071 integrated COMINT system, which copes with transmissions characterised by short duration and advanced signal forms and the ELL-8385 ELINT system, designed to operate in dense modern radar environments. The customer already operates ELTA’s ELINT system and decided to upgrade to a full SIGINT capability and add the integrated suite to a second aircraft.
