Elbit Systems Wins Contracts in the Netherlands and Asia-Pacific

Protection, Sighting and Integrated C4ISR Solutions

Elbit Systems has won two contracts, one valued at $82 million (€68 million) to supply protection and sighting systems to the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA), the second as prime contractor to supply APCs and associated systems to an Asia-Pacific force, valued at $46 million, the company announced on 7 February.

As prime contractor, the company will supply an undisclosed number of VBTP 6×6 APCs to the Asian customer over a three-year period. Developed in cooperation between Iveco Defence Vehicles and the Brazilian Army, the VBTPs will be delivered with a range of Elbit Systems integrations, including electric drive and stabilization, fire control and the TORCH-X battle management system, E-LynX software-defined radios, gunner and commander sights and life support systems.

Yehuda Vered, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land, expressed satisfaction with the “[…] continuous co-operation with Iveco, particularly with our capacity to contribute to the export efforts of the Brazilian defence industry. We believe that our strong portfolio of subsystems positions us advantageously to lead procurement programmes of armoured vehicles, especially as the missions they are tasked with become more diverse and increasingly networked.”

An order from BAE Systems Hägglunds tasks Elbit Systems to deliver active protection systems (APS) and electro-optical commander’s sights to the RNLA for its CV90 IFV fleet over a four-and-a-half year contract period. As part of the BAE Systems-led modernization programme for the vehicle, Elbit Systems will supply its IRON FIST APS and Commander Open Architecture Panoramic Sights (COAPS) – the former a lightweight APS that defeats threats at a distance, resulting in negligible residual penetration, the latter a modular dual-axis stabilized sight facilitating long-range target acquisition by day and night, in both stationary and mobile situations.
