Approx $100 Million for MEWSIC Increment 1
Babcock International has awarded a contract valued at approx. $100 million (€86 million) to Elbit Systems UK to provide the Royal Navy with new EW capabilities under Increment 1 of the Maritime Electronic Warfare System Integrated Capability (MEWSIC) Programme. The performance period is 13 years and the contract includes in-service support.
Elbit will design, manufacture and deliver maritime EW suites comprising fully digital full-spectrum radar electronic support measures (RESM) and EWC2 systems. Commenting on the provision of such an important capability to the Royal Navy, company CEO, Martin Fausset, commented “Elbit Systems UK will work with its local partners on developing and delivering these cutting-edge technologies, creating high skilled jobs while providing operational sovereignty and freedom of action.”
