Former AVM With Wide Private Sector Experience
Elbit Systems of Australia (ELSA) announced the appointment of Air Vice Marshal (ret’d) Kym Osley, AM, CSC, as a non-executive director on 30 January.
Osley’s other board appointments include: non-executive director of Quickstep Technologies; Member of LEOLabs Australia Strategic Advisory Board; Chair of the Australian Air Force Cadet Foundation; and non-executive director of PWR Technologies. He will work with the other board members – Executive Chair Dr Karen Stanton, Maj Gen (ret’d) Roger Powell, AM, Haim Delmar and Yossi Gaspar.
ELSA has recently completed a transformation process, strengthening its governance, engineering, IT infrastructure and security. AVM Osley’s appointment comes as part of the reorganisation resulting from successful completion of that process, as the company continues the selection process for a new CEO, following the departure of former Managing Director Paul McLachlan, AO, CSC, last December.
Dr Stanton, noting her pleasure in announcing the new appointment to the board, commented, “Kym is a valuable addition to ELSA’s board, due to more than three decades’ service in senior positions in the RAAF and his valuable experience in the private sector following his ADF career […] “Kym is highly regarded for his work throughout the government, the private sector and defence industry, which will inject the ELSA board with the right mix of skills and experience to provide guidance and oversight as we focus on growing the Australian business […] The transformation and reorganisation of the Australian business enables us to access a wider cross-section of Elbit’s product portfolio, placing us in a better position to meet the challenges and opportunities of future programmes within the defence industry.”
