Virtual Reality Trainer for Emergency Services
Elbit Systems is launching its Emergency Scenarios Virtual Reality Trainer (ESVRT) at the Israel HLS & Cyber Conference in Tel Aviv this week. The system provides a realistic 3D virtual environment for training emergency response teams in a wide range of emergency situations., including ballistic missile attack, earthquake and disaster response and search and rescue operations.
ESVRT joins the company’s Incident Command Team Training System (ICTTS), used for training Israeli military and security personnel to prepare for current and future security threats. ICTTS has recently been expanded to add civil and municipal actors, who play a significant role in emergency preparedness and decision-making.
ICTTS training scenarios are eight hours in length, during which trainees, including the local mayor, carry out two major emergency response actions as well as responding to a number of minor related incidents. A video-based reconstruction including the virtually-generated threats assists in creating an active and stimulating after action review (AAR) environment.
