Nine Year Performance Period with Ten Year Option
Elbit Systems has won a contract, valued at approx. $96 million (€80 million), to supply a rotary-wing Mission Training Centre (MTC) for the armed forces of a European nation.
Calling for the supply of training and support services for the procuring country’s air force, army and navy helicopter pilots, the contract will be performed over a nine-year period, with an option to extend the maintenance services for an additional 10 years.
The networked, multi-platform, mission-oriented, helicopter training centre will provide multi-level training and enable realistic simulated tactical training using all of the helicopter’s systems in a wide variety of mission scenarios. It draws on the unique technologies and accumulated operational experience of the company’s fighter aircraft tactical mission training centres. “This contract highlights the growing importance that Armed Forces place on leveraging proven technologies to enhance readiness while reducing costs,” commented Yoram Shmuely, General Manager of Elbit Systems’ Aerospace Division.
