Elbit Systems at Aero India 2017

Holistic Approach to Helicopter Protection, Intelligence and Training

Visitors to the Elbit Systems stand at Aero India 2017 in Bangalore this week will be presented with a wide variety of solutions the company offers for helicopter protection, intelligence gathering and training and simulation. One of the many advantages the company will be pushing is the interconnectivity of operational and training systems, aimed at enhanced aircrew readiness and more effective mission review.

Among the wide range of solutions being showcased by the company are:

Helmet Pointing System (HPS): A proven solution, in use on over 7,000 helicopters worldwide, HPS offers enhanced situational awareness including day/night colour conformal 3D symbology and innovative line-of-sight technology, allowing for operations in degraded visual environment conditions.

ALL-in-SMALL airborne self-protection suite: A small, lightweight and fully integrated comprehensive EW solution featuring modular, open architecture with multiple interface capability. It can be effectively integrated with Direct Infra-Red Countermeasure (DIRCM) systems and can be provided with advanced capabilities such as multi-spectral threat goe-location and net-centric EW applications.

Among the weapons-related systems offered for helicopters are the GATR/STAR laser guidance kit for 70/80mm rockets; LIZARD modular guidance kits for general purpose bombs; EMA 66 and EMA 40 BD BR 70mm rockets; and the LA707 70mm rocket launcher.

SKYBREAKER: A networked multi-cockpit, mission-oriented training centre supporting a variety of aircraft types. The facility houses a complex networked system designed to provide an entire squadron with the tools to practice modern air combat using SkyScen, a sophisticated computer generated forces solution.

TARGO: A sophisticated helmet mounted system representing a new generation of capability for intense flight environments. TARGO can be used in stand-alone configuration or fully integrated with the aircraft’s avionics, incorporating the Embedded Virtual Avionics training solution.

ReDrone: An advanced counter-UAS system, to detect, identify, track and neutralise drones in controlled airspace. Designed for easy and rapid installation, the system’s easy-to-use, intuitive digital control unit is based on Android features.

Immune Satellite Navigation System (ISNS): A highly effective GPS counter-countermeasures system that enables reliable, non-stop GPS operations and full jamming immunity for multiple satellite channels.

LightSPEAR: An extremely lightweight self-protection jammer system for UAS, LightSPEAR comprises a compact ESM and ECM solution based on multiple DRFM channels working in parallel across a wide spectrum.

MUSIC: An IR missile jamming system for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The system provides FLIR thermal cameras for threat detection, acquisition and tracking and weighs only 45kg, offering unprecedented protection from existing and emerging threats.

Unmanned systems solutions on offer include the Da-Vinci man-portable, multi-rotor mini UAS, the SKYLARK ILEX next generation UAS and the SEAGULL unmanned surface vessel.
