Destined for Spårö Class MCMV
Elbit Systems Sweden AB is to supply its Albatross combat management system (CMS) to the Royal Swedish Navy under a contract from the Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for an undisclosed amount, the company confirmed on 13 January. The contract will be completed over a 34-month period.
Albatross will equip the Navy’s Spårö class mine countermeasures vessels (MCMV). It is a scalable, open architecture CMS, based on the Elbit’s E-CIX platform, enabling commanders and operators to receive a common operational picture correlating underwater detection and surface tracks, based on real-time data, live video streaming and imagery data, thereby expanding the operational envelope, increasing flexibility and enabling effective decision-making.
“Elbit Systems sees a growing demand for its naval portfolio, with this award joining recent contract awards from maritime customers across Europe and Asia Pacific,” observed Tobias Wennberg, General Manager of Elbit Systems Sweden.
