Multi-Channel and Full Duplex Enhance Utility
Elbit Systems has added multi-channel and full duplex technologies to its E-LynX family of software-defined radios (SDR), substantially increasing network throughput and further empowering its SDR-based solution for multi-domain digital transformation.
When using single or dual RF channels, tactical operators’ ability to transmit and receive data is dependent on channel availability, which can limit reach and network presence. Elbit Systems’ new, patented, multi-channel technology enables simultaneous use of multiple frequencies for transmission and reception, using one or more waveforms, providing all-time network availability and presence – a key factor in multi-domain operations. The multi-channel network capability improves both the optimisation of spectrum resource allocation and the capability to execute concurrent missions while maintaining fast, resilient, secured, interoperable and immune communications in any terrain. Current tactical radio technologies allow access to the network for a single user at a time. The new full-duplex technology enables tactical users to exchange information simultaneously, and to have dynamic conversations, accelerating the flow of information in the battlespace.
The E-LynX SDR family is already the preferred choice of several nations for multi-domain digital transformation, including Brazil, Israel, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The company will deliver over 10,000 multi-channel, full-duplex E-LynX SDR systems under several of these programmes.
