ECM Payload for HAMMERHEAD USV
Elbit Systems has been selected by prime contractor Rheinmetall Canada to supply the off-board electronic countermeasures (ECM) payload for the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) Naval Off-Board Anti-Missile Active Decoy (NOMAD) programme, the company announced on 17 October. The systems are to be installed on RCN HAMMERHEAD unmanned surface vessels (USV).
“The Naval Offboard anti-Missile Active Decoy (NOMAD) system is a state-of-the-art electronic attack payload integrated onto an unmanned surface vessel for remote anti-ship missile defence operations,” explained Rheinmetall Canada’s Vice President Electronic Solutions – C4ISTAR, Pietro Mazzei.
