Over 1,000 THOR mini-UAS to be Supplied
Elbit Systems has been awarded a contract, valued at approx. $153 million (€139 million) to supply a comprehensive, networked, multi-layered unmanned aerial system (UAS) array to the armed forces of a Southeast Asian nation, the company announced on 6 October.
To be performed over a 22-month period, the contract calls for the company to supply an array of UAS that will include over 1,000 THOR multi-rotor vertical takeoff and landing mini-UAS, scores of SKYLARK LEX, SKYLARK 3 and HERMES 450 tactical UAS and a number of universal ground control stations.
“This contract award underlines our competitive edge as armies increasingly view multi-layered UAS solutions as key to providing superior intelligence while maintaining a high level of operational flexibility,” commented Elbit Systems President and CEO, Bezhalel Machlis.
