Partnership with Qinetiq, ASG, for Emerging UAS Programmes

Elbit Systems UK has established Team Elbit – a consortium to bid for future UAV contracts in Britain, the company has announced.

Elbit Systems UK will lead the combined work, which will also involve U-TacS (UAV Tactical Systems) – its joint venture with Thales UK that has developed the British Army’s Watchkeeper system –Qinetiq, and Aviation Systems Group.

Within the partnership, Qinetiq will “drive innovation by developing a collaborative supplier framework of leading UAS technology,” according to Elbit, while ASG will manage air safety and airworthiness, support operational flight planning and training. Team Elbit will collaborate with an extended and wider ecosystem of platform, payload, communications and data-processing providers to “deliver best-in-class capabilities with rapid and continual technology refresh”.

“Elbit Systems UK has been a pioneer, and is now well established in delivery, evolution and support of integrated UAS capability to the UK MOD,” CEO Martin Fausset stated. “Team Elbit will leverage the successes and expertise of all the partners, to meet future requirements with best-in-class technology from our team and a broad range of suppliers.”
