High-Precision Guided Mortar Munition to be Delivered Over Two Years
Elbit Systems announced on 11 April that it has been awarded a contract, valued at approx. $30 million, to supply its STYLET precision guided mortar munition (GMM) to an undisclosed Asia-Pacific nation. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed over a two-year period.
With a range of 1,000-8,500m, STYLET is a multi-mode GPS/INS-guided 120mm GMM designed for combat and special forces units. Its level of accuracy – less than 10m Circular Error Probable (CEP) – provides users with an affordable, precise solution that is easy and quick to operate, increasing operational effectiveness while significantly reducing collateral damage.
“We see a growing demand for high-precision guided munitions that are also economically efficient. This contract award underscores the company’s significantly improved positioning in the ordnance area in general, and in the area of precision-guided munitions in particular, following the acquisition of IMI Systems,” commented Elbit Systems Land’s General Manager, Yehuda Vered.
