THOR UAV operating in urban environments with non-line of sight C3 

With many customers in Latin America for its national defence and security solutions, Elbit Systems is presenting components in its overall safe and smart cities portfolio. An unnamed source at Elbit Systems said: “Safe cities are a rising issue throughout Latin America and we offer a suite of solutions to meet these growing needs.”

The latest options available to civil authorities in this region include the THOR UAV (fan-copter rotor configuration) and the integrated ground control station ASTRONOMY for piloting THOR and collecting ISTAR data / visuals. The pilot is able to make vertical automatic take-offs and landings, conduct prescribed automated missions, operating in urban environments with non-line of sight C3 (command, control, communication) capabilities for safe and successful deployments.
